The highly engraved, hand-tooled leather boards and binding are solid and tight, save for some light rubbing to the corners. Previous owner's book plate on the inside front board. The pages and 23 copper engravings are crisp and clean save for a small ink note on the top corner of the title page, and another previous owner's book plate and canceled stamp on the copyright page. Some of the plates have a spot or two of foxing near the page borders. A beautiful book in itself, and a fascinating look at the script and laws of centuries past.
