The only issue of the first American edition, published only months after the first English edition on 10 November 1876. Solid and tight boards and binding, with minor wear to boards and library catalog numbers on the lower portion of the spine. Remains of library paste-downs on the inside boards. All pages crisp and clean save for library stamps on lower portion of title page and small repaired tear on opposite page listing author's other works.
