Beautiful, antique 2-volume set of French dictionaries: English to French translation and French to English translation, from 1817. Each volume is three-quarter bound in leather. Volume 1 (English-French): 944 pages; Volume 2 (French-English): 1196 pages. In overall excellent condition. The boards and binding are solid and tight with some shelf-wear, but very solid for both volumes. The pages are crisp and clean for volume one save for some ink stains, rubbing and a very old professional repair with foxing to the top corner of the title page. The pages are crisp and clean for volume two, save for a professional repair and light foxing to the top corner of the title page. The volumes are thick and heavy and weigh 8 pounds. A wonderful, rare 200-year-old set of French dictionaries produced in Paris for your collection.
