GREEK TEMPLES, THEATRES AND SHRINES, H. Berve 1st Ed HC/DJ 1962 TIPPED-IN PLATES
GREEK TEMPLES, THEATRES AND SHRINES by Helmut Berve and Gottfried Gruben — Photographs by Max Hirmer — First Edition First Printing, 1962 HC/DJ
Publisher: Henry N. Abrams, New York (1962)
Rare and out-of-print, "Greek Temples, Theatres and Shrines" by Helmut Berve and Gottfried Gruben has 36 tipped-in plates, 176 b/w plates, and numerous ground plans. It's 508 pages in length, and in excellent condition. The boards and binding are solid and tight save for three spots of foxing on the top spine and some wrinkling to the white paste-down on the front inside board. The dust jacket holds the book snugly and has chipping, tape remains and shelf-wear. (Fun to note — fairly big editorial error in the title of the book, on the dust jacket!) The pages and plates are crisp and clean save for a random spot or two of foxing. This is a large book and weighs 8 pounds. An incredible photographic resource on Greek ancient culture for your collection.
