Appears to be rebound, with marbled boards. Bookplate states it was a gift to the Indianapolis Public Library from William Allen Woods. Woods was a member of the Indiana House of Representatives in the 1860s. Inscribed and signed by the author on the half-title page: "A M. Boillot, homage, F. Fabart" ("To Monsieur Boillot, with homage"; next line is difficult to read with the script). 345 pages. A wide-ranging work on the occult, including topics on Human Magnetism; Magic; The Magi; Druids; Alchemy; Mediums; Spirit Phenomena; Table Tapping; Reincarnation; Witches of the Middle ages; The Occult among Hebrews; and so much more. A clean and solid copy of a very scarce work, signed by the author, with tight binding; rubbed corners and edges; a few library marks (number on spine, bookplate, stamp on bottom text block edge, and perforated stamp on title page). Interior is otherwise clean and free of markings, save normal age-toning and author's inscription.
