Book Details + Condition: The De Laurence Company (Chicago). First Edition thus, 1918. 'By' Lauron William de Laurence (1868 - 1936), renowned plagiarist and publisher of occult goods and literature. See complete title above. Dark blue boards, with gilt title on front and title (etc) to spine. 176 pages, with b&w illustrations of cards from the A.E. Waite / Pamela Colman Smith tarot deck. Effectively a pirated edition, the work is actually A.E. Waite's "The Pictorial Key to the Tarot" (1911), which De Laurence stole, resetting it, changing the title slightly, and publishing it under his own name. A solid and firm copy, with tight binding; light wear to boards; rubbed corners; inked red underlining on approximately 40 pages (some with only one sentence, some with much of the page), with the Lesser Arcana image section having a red star within the notes.
