Exceedingly rare, first edition, first printing of "Lectures on Botany, As Delivered to His Pupils" by William Curtis from 1803 in fine to very fine condition, with 96 clear, crisp and colorful plates. The boards and binding are solid and tight, save for some wear on the board corners, small nick to lower spine and slight stain to inside board. The pages are are crisp and clean with no yellowing to the pages save for a spot or two of slight foxing on the pages 3,4,12,49 and small spot or two of foxing on plates, 9,13,15,35,51,78. Professionally repaired tear on edge of page 4. (See photo.) The illustrations are crisp, colorful and very well preserved for being over 200 years old. A beautiful and rare edition.
