Book Details + Condition: Cassell and Company, Ltd. (London, Toronto, Melbourne and Sydney). First Edition, 1932. Hardcover with dust jacket. 254 pages with Index. Illustrated. From the Preface: "The letters in this volume have been selected from a collection of about 2000 which I [author and psychical researcher, J. Arthur Hill] received from Sir Oliver Lodge during a period of something over 20 years. My association with him has been mainly on the side of psychical research, and consequently the subject figures largely in the letters; but many other subjects were discussed between us, and Sir Oliver Lodge said my interesting things about religion, literature, politics and even music." Sir Oliver Joseph Lodge (1851–1940) was an English physicist and writer involved in the development of, and holder of key patents for, radio. He also identified electromagnetic radiation independent of Hertz's proof in 1894. Lodge was likewise a pioneer in the Spiritualist movement. His research into the Afterlife was a topic on which he wrote many books.
