Three volumes in white slipcase; hardcover books in original dust jackets, all with an original price if $10.95 on the unclipped dust jackets. The books are bound in full black cloth, gilt lettering on spine, orange and gilt, red and gilt, and violet and gilt decoration on front cover of each volume. The book sizes are 6 by 9 inches. Illustrated with a one-color fold-out map of Middle Earth tipped inside the rear cover of each volume.

All three books are in very good condition save slight shelfwear to spine ends and bumped top corner on the front board of Return of the King. All pages crisp and clean save previous owner's name on first blank page of every book (see picture). The dust jackets are in good condition save some ware to spine ends, book corners and minor tear to top of The Return of the King and The Fellowship of the Ring. The box is sturdy and in very good condition save bumped top rear corner. An excellent vintage collector's piece!
