Publisher's original grey quarter cloth with floral-patterned boards decoratively stamped in gilt. 17 tipped-in colored plates (including title page), mounted on sheets with decorative borders printed in two colors. A beautifully illustrated retelling of many Greek myths that revolve around flowers and animals. Each tale is accompanied by plates that pair the animals and flowers in each tale, along with a vignette of the tale. Overall a firm and clean clean copy of a very scarce and signed edition, with tight binding; rubbed corners and edges; light wear to boards, with some darkening; interior is clean and free of markings save author/illustrator signature and inscription in pencil, on front free endpaper.
