S.H. Babington's a physican to numerous exploring and scientific
expeditions in the canyons and mesas of the Southwest, had an excellent
opportunity to become acquainted with the Navajos. As a doctor, he had a
strong interest in their healing ceremonies, and he participated in
numerous rites and celebrations. Book also examines flora and fauna of
the region, history, and religion; and is composed almost entirely of
