Very rare early 20th century horror novel by the well known author, Henry Mercer. This volume is his only known piece of fiction making it extremely rare. Bound in blue cloth, with black lettering on the front cover and spine. 244 pages. The front also features the design of an archer below the title. The boards and binding are solid and tight save for a small amounts of fading along the edges of the boards. The pages are crisp and clean save for previous owner's inscription on the first blank page.
Mercer was an American archeologist, artifact collector, tile-maker, and designer of three distinctive poured concrete structures: Fonthill, his home, the Moravian Tile and Pottery Works, and the Mercer Museum. His one work of fiction brought him much attention, but he decided to pursue other interests making his volumes very rare, especially the first editions.
