Illustrated with full-page colored plates and in-text b&w engravings, all by the author. By William Stephen Coleman (1829-1904), in which he describes in detail the flora of British forests, as well as the native insect populations. Coleman was an English illustrator best known for his natural works including British Ferns; Philip and His Garden; and British Birds. Firm binding; rubbed corners and edges; light wear to boards; toning and foxing to endpapers; interior is clean and free of markings save owner name to front free endpaper.
