Book Details + Condition: Grimoire or guide to the use of
talismans, seals, charms, and other glyphs in ritual magick. The text is a
facsimile of a hand-written manuscript penned by Robert T. Cross, writing under
the pseudonym "Raphael" in 1879. This manuscript was itself drawn
largely from a manuscript translation of "The Key or Clavis of Rabbi
Solomon" that had belonged to Ebenezer Sibly (c. 1749-c. 1800), to which
was added some extra material from the work of Cornelius Agrippa and Francis
Barrett. This edition published by Lauron William de Laurence (1868–1936). De
Laurence was notorious for taking other people's works and reissuing them under
his own name (sometimes re-titling them in the process). In this instance he
has been restrained, and simply credited himself with non-existant editorial
duties. This volume has the copyright date 1916, but it is most likely a later reprint. In very good condition: minor shelf wear; browning to endpapers; small vintage occult bookseller label on front inside board; interior is clean and free of markings.
