Pocket-sized volume by British astrologers Robert Cross Smith / Robert Thomas Cross, both taking the pseudonym of Raphael. This work is subtitled "The effects of the planets and signs upon the human body." Smith and Cross both wrote and edited several volumes on astrology along with a series of tables known as Raphael's Ephemeris in the 19th century. Section titles include "The Zodiac and the Human Body," "Diseases of Mercury (and other planets)," "Health and the Horoscope," "A List of Herbs under the Different Planets," "Lunar Influence on the Health," and more. A clean and solid copy of a scarce first edition, with firm binding; lightly rubbed corners; a bit of wear to boards, with discoloration; toning to endpapers; interior is clean and free of markings.
