The boards and binding are solid and tight but have heavy wear. Previous owner's signature on inside front board, with notes on first blank page. Pages are generally crisp and clean save for: Title page and Preface pages have small damp stain on the bottom of the pages. Light foxing on the page borders of 335 - 339 and a very small spot of damp stain on the fore-edge of pages 479 - 489. ALL OF THE TEXT INFORMATION IS CLEAN. 581 pp.

The book provides a heavily detailed description of the 1st through 15th Regiments of North Carolina Troops, through the years 1861-1865. Information provided: Name, town of origin, rank, regiment and company of all troops including commanding officers and support staff. Also, denotes the status of the solider: i.e. captured, killed, Prisoner of War, Wounded, Retired, Etc. as well as the date and place of action.
