In overall excellent condition. The boards and binding are solid and tight, with minimal shelf-wear. The pages are crisp and clean save for previous owner's signature, bookplate and small ink bookstore stamp on the inside front board and corresponding blank page. Prof. George Henslow (1834-1926) was a clergyman of the Church of England, a recognized authority on Botany, and a convinced Spiritualist with a particular interest in 'psychic photography.' In this volume he offers revelations "in the form of messages and teachings from the Spirits themselves, on Religion and Religious life on the other side of the Veil." A fascinating tome, in a first edition from 1920.
