Publisher: John B. Alden, New York (1891)
An exceedingly scarce, signed first edition, first printing of an unusual religious story of Christ written in poetic prose. Signed and dated ("With the Compliments of the Author"), April 9, 1892, Atlanta on the first blank page. Embossed boards with gilt of a woman kneeling under a palm tree, and a star shining upon her. End papers have blue
and gold floral pattern. 74 pages plus errata sheet bound in at the back. In well preserved condition. The boards and binding are solid and tight save for light shelfwear. The gilt-edged pages are crisp and clean save for two spots of very small foxing on the top corners of page 74, 75. Small sticker of previous owner on inside front board — that of "Mrs. Beaumont Davison," of the famous historic Davison's department store in Atlanta, GA (opened in 1890). We are unable to find any other copies of this book for sale, much less a signed first edition, first printing.
