LIMITED EDITION of 2662/3000 — IL TAROCCO DI SISSI (THE TAROT DECK OF SISSI): FOR A CORRECT INTERPRETATION OF THE MAJOR ARCANA — By Amerigo Folchi, 1989 — MINT CONDITION, Out-of-Print Tarot Cards
A rare and out-of-print, limited edition (of 3000) of Il Tarocco Di Sissi by Amerigo Folchi, whose art is currently being sold in galleries. Folchi's great skill and vast knowledge of art and tarot history is self-taught. He has published many historically important Tarots and has produced thematic decks for friends and colleagues. More recently, he has focused his creative energy on intricate, handcrafted decks. The 'Sissi' of the title refers to Elizabeth of Austria 1837-1898, also known as Elisabeth of Bavaria who became Empress of Austria and Queen of Hungary, by marriage to Emperor Franz Joseph I. Folchi took the imagery from the Alpine Art Deco wall-paintings in the Hofer Hall at Madonna di Campiglio. The Bagaglino Hotel bought the property, thus the commission for this beautiful tarot deck. Artwork in watercolor, pen and ink. The tarot was created for Bagaglino hotels, and printed by Italcards in 1989. This limited edition of 3000 includes the box, instruction booklet, protective tarot card insert and tarot cards. The box, instruction booklet, slipcase and tarot cards have no wear and are in mint condition. The 80 cards are all present — they have not been used, and remain in their original card order. The outside top flap of the tarot card box states the edition number, 2662 and the total number of editions, 3000.
