Gorgeously bound in original sage green cloth, with gilt title and decorations to boards and to spine. Gilt Dulac design of clusters of bells to front cover. Same design in gilt on endpapers. 28 color plates, each surrounded by green border, and protected by tissue guards. 10 black ink headpieces on tan background and Poe's portrait on title page. In very good condition: bumped and rubbed spine; rubbed board edges and corners; toning to front & rear endpapers (perhaps from an old newspaper clipping); periodic light foxing; all tissue guards present; small green ink (?) smudge on border of "Fairy-Land" plate; small smudge/stain to tissue guard of "Alone" plate, which very lightly bleeds to image; otherwise pages are clean and free of markings.
