Raphael, "Astrologer of the nineteenth century", states in his preface that "Dreams in my opinion, are caused by the Soul, that is, when the sensual and mortal parts of man are, as it were, dead, then the Soul shines forth, and produces certain impressions upon the brain; these impressions being Dreams." Wear to boards, with darkening, bumped and rubbed corners and edges; wear to spine ends; slight lean to book; normal age toning to pages; interior is clean and free of markings save owner's name on black endpapers.
