Publisher: The Reilly & Britton Co. Chicago, 1910
First edition, first printing of Frank Baum's "The Emerald City of Oz" from 1910. Illustrations by John R. Neill, including color plates embellished with metallic green ink. Along with the color illustrations, there are many wonderfully whimsical black-and-white graphics as well.
Not ex-library, and 15 out of 16 color plates are present. The binding and boards are in solid, tight and good condition. The cover paste-down is crisp and clear but has one small tear near the spine. Spots of discoloration on the boards along with normal shelf-wear, bumped corners and previous owner's signature on the front inside board. The pages are crisp and the illustrations are bright and vibrant, save some light foxing on the frontispiece. Some of the pages have light smudges along the page borders. The bottom corners of pages 215-229 show the crease of former dogearing. An overall, very good first edition, first printing and scarce copy of "The Emerald City of Oz" from 1910 — a wonderful collector's piece.
