Walter Ernest Butler (1898-1978), was a priest in the Liberal Catholic Church, who studied with Dion Fortune and was active in her Fraternity of the Inner Light for nearly twenty years. He later became acquainted with Gareth Knight and founded his own group, the Servants of the Light, of which he remained the main teacher until not long before his death. THE MAGICIAN is a serious guide for the aspirant magician, and includes exercises in concentration, visualization, ritual, and use of magical instruments, accompanied by illustrations. This is new-old stock, and has never been read: tight binding; light shelfwear due to storage (including old fold to corner and first pages); text is clean and unmarked.
