Very rare, limited edition of "The Quaint Companions" by Leonard Merrick, with an introduction by H.G. Wells. In very good condition. An English novelist, Merrick was highly regarded by his peers; J.M. Barrie referred to Merrick as the "novelist's novelist." The boards and binding are solid and tight save for rubbing and slight shelf-wear. The pages are bright, crisp and clean, and free of interior markings. Partial Biography
Merrick was well regarded by other writers of his era. In 1918 fifteen writers, including famous authors such as H.G. Wells, J.M. Barrie, G.K. Chesterton and William Dean Howells, collaborated with publisher E.P. Dutton to issue "The Works of Leonard Merrick" in fifteen volumes, which were published between 1918 and 1922.
