VOLTAIRE'S MICROMEGAS ~ DON FREEMAN Illustrator, E. HALL ~ 1st/1st 1967 HC/DJ
DON FREEMAN Illustrator ~ VOLTAIRE'S MICROMEGAS ~ Adapted by Elizabeth Hall ~ First Edition / First Printing, 1967 HC with RARE DJ
Publisher: Golden Gate Junior Books, San Carlos (1967)
A very rare first edition, first printing copy of "Voltaire's Micromegas," adapted by Elizabeth Hall and illustrated by Don Freeman — complete with its scarce dust jacket. The boards and binding are solid and tight, with little shelf-wear. The pages and lithograph illustrations are crisp and clean save for a few spots of foxing near the top corners of pages one and two, two spots of foxing on the back board, and a crease on the first blank page. Very small name written in top corner of inside front board; otherwise free of interior markings. The very scarce unclipped dust jacket still shows its original price of $3.50, and is in good condition save for chipping to spine ends and corners, but the bright DJ holds the book firmly and securely. Please see all pictures. A gorgeous book and a rare find!
