Book Details + Condition: Scarce first edition, stated first printing from 1972 of Donald Goines' WHORESON: THE STORY OF A GHETTO PIMP. Goines' second novel, and one of his most important, has been rumored to be at least partly autobiographical. Goines wrote the novel while incarcerated and sought input from his fellow inmates, who urged him to submit the work to Holloway House. It is very scarce in a true first edition/first printing format. After Goines' murder, his earlier works were reissued with new covers that mentioned his death, even as the text block still identified them as firsts. This is the true first, with no mention of Goines' death. In good condition: tight binding; some shelfwear to covers, with a crease on the front; text is clean and unmarked save normal age toning.
