Very scarce, first edition, first printing of "The Works of the Reverend Joseph Bellamy" by Joseph Bellamy, from 1811-1812 in overall excellent condition. Reverend Bellamy was a Revolutionary War Congregationalist pastor, leading preacher, author, educator and theologian in New England. The boards and binding are solid and tight, save for some rubbing and light shelf-wear. The pages are crisp and clean save for some light moisture staining to end papers and part of the title page in volume one, and some light foxing to the title pages in volumes two and three. All other pages are crisp and clean save for a random spot of two of foxing. Each volume is finely bound in leather. Volume 1: 540 pages; Volume 2: 544 pages; Volume 3: 546 pages.
