Book Details + Condition: Original green cloth with black titling to spine and front cover. Very scarce first edition Volume 1 of the Occult Science Library. In overall good condition — slight wear to boards, and some pages have minor old pencil lining and margin squiggles. Ernest Yates Loomis (1863 - 1929), an American occultist, author, and publisher (as Ernest Loomis & Co.), was a somewhat mysterious and enigmatic character. He taught and wrote extensively on the occult, though many of his books — like this one — are now extremely hard to find, most notably his "Should Women Obey?". According to the Publisher's Preface of this book, "The rules herein formulated for the use of man's Occult forces in all business and art, and for the development of his Occult powers, have been demonstrated successfully in the previous sale of these essays...."
